About Garrett P

Born and raised in the Midwest, Garrett has called Wisconsin, Illinois, and now Minnesota home. Growing up in between the Twin Cities and small farming communities, Garrett gained a deep appreciation of both urban and rural lifestyles.

Upon graduating with a degree in business administration, Garrett quickly became disillusioned with the transactional and extractive paradigm all too common in mainstream business models. Seeking greater meaning and purpose, Garrett embarked on a journey to learn to grow his own food, beginning a nearly decade-long career in the nonprofit sector of community-based food systems as a grower, educator, program director, and policy advocate.

Along his journey, Garrett had the privilege of helping to improve access to healthy food, agricultural land, and garden/farm-based education while living and working on an award-winning 30-acre community land trust (boasting an organic farm, community garden, native prairie, and mixed-income cohousing community). Through this unique experience, Garrett deepened his understanding of and relationships with the land, community, and himself.

Garrett’s experience also extends to affordable, ecologically sustainable, and community-oriented living solutions.

Having lived in and served on the board of directors of both a network of nonprofit cooperative houses, as well as a co-housing community, Garrett has developed an intimate appreciation for intentional communities, cooperative models of decision making, and innovative land arrangements.

Garrett is grateful to have found a tribe of change agents at Latitude with whom to apply the powerful financial tools of real estate to advance regenerative principles and values necessary for life to be sustained and thrive on this planet.
